August in deep east Texas. What can you do? Stay inside, I guess. It's just too dang hot. We got out there a few times, earlier in the month. And, yes, we caught some average fish. But, about 2 hours is about all one could stand. Eventually, I just trailered the boat and parked it. With almost no rain in weeks, the lake has evaporated down about a foot, or so. Which, for any other lake, would be a 3-5ft drop. But, because we have Tonkowa Springs as a feeder, we never drop too bad. I'm having a little motor issue, so maybe now is the time to run it through the shop for some maintenance. B.O.A.T. = Bust Out Another Thousand!

All-in-all, we're catching fish. But only if you can stand out in a convection oven for hours. Not I, said The Wolfe! Maybe September will bring some relief? That's a BIG maybe. Come on Fall!

p.s. Now is a great time to book the best Fall times. Jus' sayin'

Come Attack the Nac!
