7.27.26 FISHING REPORT

July has been a reasonably good month for bass. If the heat doesn't get your, first. Some really good catches were found, early this month, in the gass-flat area near a road bed. The SPRO KGB got some bigger bites.

Otherwise, the schooling bass were in their typical offshore pattern. Sitting just above the thermocline, at 8-12ft. This was perfect for the Rapala DT-8. This balsa crank is setup exactly for these fish. Rip, rip, pause. Long pauses make that lure hold in place. BAM!

Again, the heat has turned officially oppressive. Early morning or late evening is about I can stand. Even then, the clothes come back weighing 2 extra ponds of wet. Yuk!

Regardless, the bass still have higher metabolism, and still have to eat. Find the shad, find the bass.
