6.28.26 FISHING REPORT

June was a good month for shear numbers. Never caught anything over 5lbs, but the volume made up for it. Pretty typical for this time of year. The fish have mostly moved offshore and school over the deep creeks. The bite is starting to become pretty predictable. Early morning and late evening. With the thermocline sitting at 11.5ft, you can guarantee that the fish will be in the 8-10ft zone in most situations, over taller water. With that said, if you find 8-11ft depth, they will generally be sitting right near bottom. Here's the 2 techniques:

Deeper than the thermocline? Throw a bait that can run just above that line. i.e Rapala DT-8, or under-spin that you count down and hop right above the thermocline.

Exactly 8-11ft? Tx-rig, Wobble-head or speed-crank a deep-diving crankbait. I like the Tactical DD-75 on roadbeds.

Lastly, if you run the shoreline, then you can't beat a square-bill.
