4.28.25 FISHING REPORT

Did I missed doing a March report? Yes. Did you miss much? No. March and about half of April were dedicated to the spawn. This lake is very difficult to bed fish... which I think is a good thing, actually. We caught some pretty good pre-spawn females in early March, the largest being a little over 7lbs, but otherwise we got mostly bucks with the "secret" fluke rig.
April starts off the same, but I can say that the last couple weeks have been GREAT for fish returning offshore to feed back up. If you've seen my Instagram posts, you've seen some decent catches, of late. (Pics) Many lures have done the job, like the A-rig, jerkbaits, and square-bill. But the Megabass Karashi has been the star! This tiny little bait-finess lure is incredible. These fish haven't seen this subsurface jerkbait and they just can't stand it... they HAVE to eat it. It is now a staple, and will be permanently tied on.
